Membership Fees

Fees from RWAF membership will be used for the administration of the RWAF and for the hosting of events on the RWAF calendar such as demonstrations and seminars.  Any remaining capital may be used to subsidise visits by Ryu Honbu Dojo or Ryu All Japan Aikido Federation instructors to member dojos and member countries or to subsidise visits by members to train at Ryu Honbu Dojo or attend events hosted or supported by the RWAF such as the Urayasu City Aikido Demonstration.   The RWAF aims to keep fees as low as possible to make membership as accessible as possible.  Fees are as follows:

DOJO MEMBERSHIP

  • The financial and membership year runs from the 1st of April to the 31st of March the following year.
  • Fees must be paid in full by the end of June every year.  In May every year, the General Secretary will send an email reminder that annual membership fees are due.
  • Members are only liable for annual membership fees in the second year of membership.  On approval of membership, members pay the entrance fee only.  Thereafter, they only need to pay the annual membership fees by the end of June following approval of membership.
  • Entrance fees must be paid within one month of application for  membership being accepted.
  • Yearly membership fees for member dojos are capped at JP¥10,000 plus JP¥60,000 for adults and JP¥20,000 for kids.   This means that yearly membership fees for 200 members and above shall be a maximum of JP¥10,000  plus ¥60,000 (for adults) and JP¥20,000 (for kids.)  Dojos may form regional or national federations and register with the RWAF as a block to take advantage of this system.  (Where this is the case, such federations must provide democratic representation for the interest of all member instructors and dojo representatives.  Furthermore, dojo membership can not be given to more than one national organization in any one country.  Please see Section 4.1.5 in the Statutes for further details.)
  • Late fees will incur an administrative penalty fee of 10% per year.
  • Member dojos and individual members whose fees are not paid-up may lose membership of the RWAF.  Member dojos will be removed from the “Member Dojo” section of this website.  Individual Member’s Ryu World Aikido Passports will become invalid.
  • Fees may be paid by  PayPal or by credit card.
  • All fees are non-refundable.
  • Members will be financially bound to the RWAF only within the limits of their annual fees and administrative charges, if any.
